A lamp is more than just a lighting device. These small objects, whether in neutral, self-illuminated, or lit from the outside, produce different visual effects. For LAM, creating small objects like these is an enjoyable part of the work. Despite their modest size, these pieces can add charm and playfulness to a space. Ideas often came from many different sources of inspiration, including the structures of seashells, bird nests, beehives, ant nests, young lotus leaves, or dried sponge gourds. At other times, inspiration began with mechanical details, construction structures, or experimental design models. Every form and structure contains intriguing qualities that invite observation, reflection, and imagination.
LAM came up with this Beehive lighting design while visiting Văn Miếu – Quốc Tử Giám, where a large beehive caught our attention. The blend of caution and curiosity while observing the hive and the bees inspired the lamp’s form.
