Instead of using voile or silk which create a soft contrast against the modern aluminum-and-glass context, LAM proposed steel mesh as a more suitable material. The mesh was easier to shape into volumes and achieved the desired effect while staying in harmony with the flowing steel floor that curves like a ribbon. Its adaptability enabled both free-form expression and controlled configurations, generating a range of engaging spatial volumes. The metallic finish of inox mesh interacted effectively with light, while the layered translucency created effects of depth, transparency, light, and shadow. Lighting accentuates the sculptural quality of the mesh without blocking the ambient illumination of the space. Depending on its thickness, openness, and mesh type, the mesh can produce different shapes and visual effects, offering flexibility in both design and function.
