Weaving Wonders

Designed: THE LAB SAIGON
Installed: LAM.WEAVINGSPACES
Location: HO CHI MINH CITY.  VIETNAM

A stylized Christmas tree form was positioned at the center, creating a soft connection with the existing curved architectural lines. The fluid and lightweight material suspended within the atrium generates a sense of movement, guiding the viewer inward and upward in a spiral gesture toward an implied infinity. “Born” within a specific context, the work prompted LAM to approach the design through refinement and restraint – seeking a structure that is minimal, sufficient, and uniquely responsive to this particular site. A lightweight structural system is employed, combining the tensile strength of fabric with the shaping capacity of steel tubing to form a continuous spiral with minimal visual mass. The installation is secured by a single suspension point above and a fixed anchoring point at the base. The piece functions both as a Christmas tree artwork for the main lobby, integrating seamlessly into the festive atmosphere, and as an experiential, symbolic spatial condition – a small, intimate space within the lobby of the New World Saigon Hotel.
