The journey of our dó paper structure continued with a new appearance and function in the booth of HAWA, designed by atelier tho.A, as part of the “National Achievements Exhibition – Celebrating the 80th Anniversary of National Day” at Vietnam Exhibition Center, Hanoi. The entire system was transported in just six packages, each weighing about 20 kg and carried as airplane luggage. Yet it was sufficient to cover approximately 235 m² with a reused paper skin, along with 130 m² of newly laminated paper roofing. With this being the fifth cycle of reuse, LAM’s workers had become as skillful and intuitive as seasoned artisans. Adjustments, shaping, and on-site refinements happen almost freely while still reaching a complete and precise outcome. Such understanding was essential for the structure to achieve not only aesthetic quality, but also physical reliability and technical accuracy. This level of mastery allowed for reduced material use, simplified connection details, and shorter fabrication and installation time. Each transformation was not only a technical challenge, but also an opportunity to explore new possibilities.
