Somewhere in the street markets, colors burst vividly, yet certain elements became so familiar that they quietly faded into the background of everyday life. Striped tarpaulins, retractable awnings. At times, during a sudden downpour, taking shelter beneath a brightly colored canopy softened the rush of waiting. On scorching days, stepping under those sheets of color offered a brief relief from the heat. And in so many of our own projects, the presence of green, pink, and white tarpaulin stretches across the space. A living, distinctly Vietnamese condition of today. From these familiar patterns, LAM sought to create a vibrant and free-flowing composition within the atrium of OHQUAO. Responding to the spirit of their new product line, the installation took the form of a tensioned structure that felt dynamic, expressive, and liberated.
