Shinesium’s fashion-archive exhibition space In the images from the Tri Tan Pop-up event at Shinesium’s fashion display space, the curtain system designed by Lam Weaving Spaces exhibits a high aesthetic sense, blending architectural elements with decorative finesse. The curtain uses stretchable fabric, creating smooth, soft curves that sharply contrast with the straight lines and geometric shapes of the display space. These fabric pieces are meticulously stretched across the ceiling and corners, providing both spatial division and visual connectivity within the open area. The strategic placement of lighting enhances the gentle curves of the fabric, producing dynamic shadow and light play, which adds depth and highlights the displayed fashion pieces. This creative design not only serves a functional purpose but also elevates the aesthetic experience of the entire space, providing an immersive and visually stimulating atmosphere.
“With the narrow and long existing layout, divided into many spaces, LAM aimed to seamlessly connect the small spaces together with stretched fabric, reminiscent of spider webs in an abandoned warehouse, illuminated by faint light from holes in the roof. The space has no clear boundaries, instead feeling soft, deep, and captivating through the layering and fluidity of the stretched fabric. The design adheres to any point of contact without affecting the existing structure, like a spider weaving its web securely onto delicate leaf edges. Light shining through the stretched fabric helps diffuse and adjust the intensity, providing just the right amount of light to evenly illuminate the display space. The appropriate lighting highlights the fabric’s partial translucency, creating an interplay of distant and near layers that form a dynamic backdrop for showcasing special items.”
