The wall

Location : HO CHI MINH, VIET NAM

The installation at Lôcô Art Market, created by Lam Weaving Spaces, offers a visually engaging experience that merges art and culture. Using PVC as the main material, the gently curved plastic panels are suspended from the ceiling, forming continuous waves that elegantly highlight flowing lines. This structure not only serves as an aesthetic element but also creates flexible open spaces, allowing visitors to interact freely with the art pieces and the environment.

The undulating shapes and movement of the PVC panels evoke images of nature, such as waves or flowing water, symbolizing the intersection of art and commercial activities. Lôcô Art Market is a gathering place for creativity, featuring works from artists and artisans, and the exhibition space plays an integral role in emphasizing cultural and artistic identity within a modern context. The combination of light and plastic materials creates captivating contrasts, turning the space into a dynamic environment that draws visitors to participate in the artistic experience. This installation successfully captures the market’s essence by blending artistic display with an interactive and immersive atmosphere, engaging audiences through its fluid forms and inviting visual appeal.

“The idea is based on a true story. It demonstrates the limitless capabilities of humans when the school bell rings ‘7:45!’ In the short span of time after the idea emerges, LAM strings together the data to model, experiment with materials, and devise technical approaches and installation details suitable for the site conditions.

Material: By harnessing the properties of the material, not only for its effects but also its structural potential, the design becomes much more convenient and interesting. The thickness of the PVC sheets used provides enough rigidity to allow for fluid shaping, forming a self-supporting structure that minimizes the need for additional framework. Minimal but flexible technical details are employed to make use of the existing conditions rather than making extensive modifications. The construction technique is a critical factor, directly influencing both cost and the time required to install the artwork.”
