Thiso Mall’s Gown

In another spatial dimension, a garment was tailored in an entirely new way. Each stitch was carefully calculated so that the piece appeared in its most essential state. To those directly crafting it, the process brought a sense of excitement through its intricate details. The preparation of the material, a metal mesh, involved edge folding and wave pressing to form a flexible structure that followed the designed curvature. The supporting frame used minimal-diameter stainless steel tubes, lightweight yet capable of bearing loads and allowing ease of shaping. By taking advantage of the bending capacity of round bars, the elements were assembled to span large distances with an extremely slender section. A tension cable system at both ends carried the entire weight of the garment. Cable clamps were composed into flexible yet stable hanging details, ensuring the coherence of all components. This became an intriguing gown for the Beso Robot, designed by Atrium Vietnam, installed within the space of Thiso Mall.
