Space of workshop 2: “Creating Sustainable Design Products with Andrea Mancuso” in the series of events preparing for the launch of the EVSDA award organized by the EU Delegation in collaboration with ELLE Decoration Vietnam. Cut from large pieces of paper, assemble large pieces from small pieces, use surplus to fill shortages… LAM restructured and recycled the materials used for workshop 1 into a space for workshop 2. The design inspiration comes from the image of termites eating wooden chopping boards (or termites eating books), wood is like food for termites and this missing part becomes their nest. The termite nest is truly impressive and mysterious to LAM in terms of nest structure, life and external expression. With a completely new context – volume – space, this design plan, in addition to creating a separate space for the event, also needs to resonate with the existing exhibition at 11:11 Espace. This combination creates a whole for event activities, sightseeing, and art viewing. The giant papier-mâché panel acts as a lightweight roof structure in workshop 1, transforming the partition wall into spaces and creating traffic flow in workshop 2. The curved paper panels aim to continuously connect and re-divide the existing space into functional spaces: main hall, lobby, core artwork combined with exhibition, panels carved out of existing display locations…
