The installation space was part of CHAM Exhibition, held at the Temple of Literature – Quoc Tu Giam during Vietnam Design Week 2023. LAM created this work in collaboration with HML Architecture, featuring light panels made from dó paper, framed in lightweight wooden structures and suspended within the traditional wooden architecture of the site. Soft illumination combined with the natural golden tone of dó paper created a warm and contemplative atmosphere. The spatial composition was designed to evoke a quiet, meditative experience, inviting visitors to engage with the space through light and emotion.
To create the illusion of ‘floating’ panels, LAM used ultra-thin 0.3mm high-strength cords, each capable of supporting 15kg, color-matched to the wooden frames. The thinnest monochromatic wiring that meets the LED power requirements. Every installation dimension was meticulously calculated to ensure precise placement and total control over the final silhouette. Our architects closely supervised the entire process, making real-time adjustments to align with the site conditions and the core concept. The assembly ‘borrowed’ from the existing structure, minimizing attachments for easy installation without altering the building’s original state.
