When observing the space’s existing condition, LAM realized that any additional detail would disrupt its inherent atmosphere and disturb the carefully balanced composition. After numerous sketches, LAM concluded that the most effective solution was “nothing.” The transparent acrylic panel, along with meticulously minimized detailing, emerged from this intention – no complexity, no exaggeration, serving purely a protective function.

This design was not only intended for display purposes but also creates an interactive interface with passersby, as shifting light and changing viewpoints generate varying reflective effects. The tensioned details can be flexibly adapted to different conditions. The transparent plastic membrane was stretched over an assembly of adjustable components, allowing it to respond to outdoor conditions. As rain, sun, and wind caused the sheet to expand or contract, it can be recalibrated to maintain proper tension. The connection details were carefully engineered to anchor securely to lightweight concrete brick walls, enabling precise installation without affecting the finished wall surface. Tensioning it at both ends minimized the need for surrounding frame elements, highlighting the inherent qualities of each material used. Every visible detail contributed to the overall aesthetic and aligned with the architect’s comprehensive vision for the project.
