Images of snails clinging to boat hulls, or shells eroded over time that revealed their intricate inner structures, became the inspiration for LAM’s research. Together with architecture student Quang Huy, who had a strong interest in insects and crustaceans, LAM studied and dissected the structure of various snail shells to better understand their geometric characteristics and structural composition. From these observations, the structural features were systematized and translated into a design language. Through folding and forming techniques, LAM developed the Snail Lamp.
